ABSTRACT

Recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are profoundly transforming many aspects of human life, including socialization, education, work, and health. While these technologies offer significant opportunities for innovation and efficiency, they also raise important questions about their effects on the well-being, autonomy, and flourishing of young people. Despite their central role in this digital transformation, youth remain underrepresented in discussions about the social and human impacts of AI, and there are currently few tools available to help understand, articulate, and communicate these impacts in an accessible manner.

To better understand these issues and foster collective reflection, our team is conducting an exploratory and participatory research project on the impact of AI on youth flourishing. The project combines a literature review, interviews with young people, and a qualitative analysis of the main emerging themes. The findings will be used to co-develop a collective visual artwork, an awareness-raising booth, a guide, and an analytical framework addressing the impacts of AI on human flourishing. Together, these tools will help advance knowledge of the social effects of AI and promote the responsible, thoughtful, and informed use of these technologies among young people and the broader public.
