Arthur Filleul

PhD Student

Arthur is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in bioethics at the l’École de santé publique de l’Université de Montréal. These studies follow on from a French diploma in physiotherapy and a Master 2 in clinical research (University of Grenoble). As a result of his clinical experience, he became interested in health ethics through a critique of paternalism in rehabilitation care and services. During his clinical practice, he completed a Master 2 in Ethics (University of Nantes). He has now joined the Pragmatic Health Ethics Research Unit to carry out his doctoral research project, under the supervision of Dr Racine. His doctoral project in the Laboratoire d’éthique vivante en réadaptation (LEViER) aims to explore the ethical issues experienced by rehabilitation care managers at the Institut de réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay de Montréal (IRGLM) to co-construct, co-develop and co-evaluate concrete and sustainable solutions. In the future, Arthur hopes to play a key role in the development of ethical reflection in rehabilitation, using ethics as an accessible and practical lever to guide people in their aspiration to live a flourishing and meaningful life.
