Montreal Health Ethics Seminar Series

The Montreal Health Ethics Seminar Series aims to promote education and dialogue by exposing various audiences to issues in health ethics.

ABOUT THE SERIES

The Montreal Health Ethics Seminar Series aims to bring clinicians, academics, patients, students, health advocates, and community members together to think about and discuss issues in health ethics. This series was formerly known as the Montreal Neuroethics Network. It has hosted dozens of scholars from local and international institutions since 2007.

Our theme for the year 2018-2019 was moral awareness, which was broached by a wide array of speakers. Questions related to this topic included (but were not limited to): What are the social and psychological mechanisms of moral awareness? How does one cultivate moral sensitivity? How can we respond to moral distress? What is our (personal, institutional, social) responsibility in the face of the awareness or unawareness of moral issues?

Our theme for the next 2019-2020 series will be revealed shortly. Stay tuned!

Seminars/webinars are held on Thursdays over lunch time to facilitate individual and group participation. Seminars take place at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (Auditorium Jacques Genest, 110 avenue des Pins Ouest) AND are livestreamed (and subsequently archived) on our YouTube channel Pragmatic Health Ethics.

All conferences are free and require no registration!
